This site is managed by the North Texas Royal Rangers on behalf of and is the exclusively authorized history site of the national Royal Rangers ministries office, Springfield, MO. Contacts for this site include Mark Oliver and Jonathan Trower.
Since July 2012, this site has been the official national Royal Rangers office effort to capture and provide history of Royal Rangers for future generations of Royal Rangers. As those who started the Royal Rangers ministry age, we want to capture their knowledge and artifacts now, before they are lost forever.

The Junior Commander and Junior Guide insignia have a gold border. The patrol leader insignia (Asst. guide, guide, and senior guide) all have a dark border. You cannot go just by the color (red, green) but also have to look at the border. The junior commander insignia would have been used while the dress blazer was still used with insignia on the epaulets. The junior guide insignia was introduced in the 1990s. Quoting from the 1998 Leaders Manual: "The Junior Guide Program is another effective method for teaching leadership responsibilities. Here a boy - who is a Pioneer, a Trailblazer, or a Trail Ranger - assists as a junior guide in a group younger than his own. He will learn the role of leadership while maintaining his position as a Pioneer, a Trailblazer, or a Trail Ranger." The bold border are listed on pages 33 and 34 of the Challengers handbook. Junior Guide and Junior Commander are also listed. |
