Shining Hot Times - the 2023 Plainsmen Territorial Rendezvous is in the books. A time of fellowship, competition and spiritual renewal was had by all. A huge thanks to John "Highland Spirit" Robinson for joining us for Rendezvous and setting a spiritual atmosphere that resonated with many in attendance.

The event was marked with a good amount of camaraderie between the chapters as the numerous competitions kept the participants challenged and busy.

We were able to honor Ralph "Cody" Williams (STX) as one of the founders of the SCR Region and the Plainsmen Territory. His memorial arrowhead will forever be posted in the Blacksmith shop.

The Snarling Bear Brigade successfully navigated the Frontier Adventure, and 7 new Frontiersmen were added to their respective chapter rolls. Matthew “Wandering Mountain Lion” Hardage and Colton “Grizzly” Hooper successfully completed the Buckskin Challenge. Wonder where the Tiger was, oh my!

The competitive events were a highlight of the week and when it was all said and done, Anthony Gell (NTX) took the prize for the top Young Buck and Art Sullivan (NTX) garnered the prize as the top Old Timer.

In a razor thin competition result, Colton "Grizzly" Hooper edged Anthony "Buck" Gell for the National Scout position. Buck earned the Territorial Scout honor.

In the heated race to earn the hallowed Buffalo Award, the men of the Jedediah Strong Smith chapter rose to the top and will let Buffy graze in the northern pastures.

In an unbelievable missions auction with the proceeds to help John Robinson's missionary funds, the Territory raised $9,000.

A huge thanks has to go to all the volunteers that jumped in and sacrificed their time to make this event a huge success. Once again, the kitchen crew of Kent Buller, Ricky Claunch, Tracy Stambaugh and led by Jayson Kringel were all-stars.

Until we meet again.
