Since July 2012, this site has been the official national Royal Rangers office effort to capture and provide history of Royal Rangers for future generations of Royal Rangers. As those who started the Royal Rangers ministry age, we want to capture their knowledge and artifacts now, before they are lost forever.
History can be mailed to Jonathan Trower / Mark Oliver, PO Box 614, Hewitt, TX 76643 or emailed to history@ntxrr.org.

Leader Caricatures

We have seen Leader Caricatures showing up in posts, emails, and flyers and have stared adding them to a new Leaders Caricatures webpage. If you have one you would like to get posted, please send us a quality image to history@ntxrr.org. You can view all the ones we currently have collected here (view caricatures)

2024 Contributor Patch

The requirements will remain the same for 2024 as they were for 2023. Please help us continue capturing Royal Rangers History.

The purpose of creating this patch was an idea to see if we can get leaders to start submitting any type of Royal Rangers historical items. As always, we are continuously looking for any Royal Rangers History. Some of the items we would like to concentrate on for 2024 include:

  1. Event Photos
  2. Event Packets and Fliers (Pow Wow, FCF Events, Derby, JLDA)
  3. Staff Listings (both current and past) and District Calendars of Events
  4. Publications (newsletters, flyers, posters)

Information/items from 2023 are especially wanted, so we can capture this history before it is gone.

This history can be for any level of Royal Rangers: Outpost, Section, District, Region, National, and International.

For 2024, the following criteria will determine if you earned a patch. However, please keep in mind that we receive a volume of information, and it is processed in a first come, first serve order. Therefore, if you submit something and it has already been submitted, it will not be counted toward your total.

When submitting your history, please make sure you let us know as much as you can about the item. We would like the following at a minimum: where it is from (district, section, outpost), name of event, and year. Please be as descriptive as you can be, and we will post the information online in the appropriate area of the History website.

The items for 2024 are (must complete 2 of the 4 categories):

  1. Ten (10) event documents (current or past events)
    1. Clean scans required (PDF preferred)
    2. Documents must be completed.
    3. If a document has already been received, blurry, or if document is incomplete, it will not count.
    4. Identify the region/district/section where the item originated.
  2. One (1) complete staff listing with the district or region identified. Please include the start date and end date for the position. If the position is current, please provide start date/year and say "current" (if still in position this year) or submit the names and photos of your district or territoria/national scouts.
  3. Twenty (20) photos of district, regional, or national items (like belt buckles, bolo ties, mugs, t-shirts, caps, etc.) not on the website. Anything Royal Rangers related is historical and it would be great to capture the above.
  4. Twenty (20) missing patch images (or substantially better images than what we currently have)

The information you submit does not have to be from your district.  Search the internet and see what you can track down. However, information the history support team gathers does not count towards anyone’s totals. We are constantly scanning the Internet for items to add to the site. Everything to be considered must be emailed or mailed to us. Most times it will be posted quickly so you can validate the site before you submit.

Keep track of what you have submitted and when you feel you have met the requirements, please send your information to history@ntxrr.org .  Due to the volume, we rely on the person submitting the information to track when they have completed the requirements for the past and to submit it to us.

We only produce 100 contributor patches, and it is understood that everyone will not be able to receive a patch. Remember, the site is "Preserving History for Future Royal Rangers!" Please help us capture and preserve our history for future generations.

2023 Regional Rendezvous

Seven rendezvous are complete. Check out the history for what has been submitted. If you have information you would like to get added to your region history page, please send it to history@ntxrr.org

Fred Deaver History

We have received written approval that will allow us to start posting photos of Fred Deaver’s art on the Royal Rangers History website. This would include anything he created: black and white prints, bronzes, color prints, oil paintings, pen and ink, water color, etc. We would love to get the history from everyone who owns a piece Fred’s art. Please include photos of the item (multiple angles on some items), name of the item, date (if printed on a label that it was created), and any additional information you can tell us about the specific item. We will not share information on who sends us information so you will not get "bugged" about someone wanting to buy it. If you do want your name associated with a particular item, we will place something like "owned by xxxxx" with the information on the website. Please send your information to history@ntxrr.org and it will be posted accordingly. Thanks!!

You can watch the progress of this history by viewing Fred Deaver page.

Royal Rangers History Items

Are you, or someone you know, thinking of getting out of Royal Rangers? Do you know a Royal Rangers leader who recently passed away and his widow is wondering what to do with his stuff? The staff of the Royal Rangers History site can help facilitate getting historical items preserved on the site, and help find good homes for all types of Royal Rangers memorabilia. Let us help preserve our Royal Rangers legacy by helping to preserve our historical items. Contact either Mark or Jonathan and we will be happy to help. You can also email history@ntxrr.org.

Photos Needed - Challenger Merit Pins

We could use someone's help with photos of various Challengers merit pins for the history site.

http://www.royalrangershistory.org/info_historical_awards_boys_ch_merits.htm has photos of many of the merits, but not all. If you have a collection of these merits, could you check to see if you can send photos of merits we are missing?

We could also use good photos of the Quester, Adventurer, Voyager, Discoverer, and Navigator pins. They would be placed on this page http://www.royalrangershistory.org/info_historical_awards_boys_ch.htm

If you can help, please send quality photos to history@ntxrr.org
